Does this kid look sick to you?

A couple of weeks ago, on a Monday, I woke up to discover Erin had thrown up in her sleep and she threw up three more times when she woke up. So, we decided that I would stay home with her. Well, around 6:30 am, I captured how sick she was. She was laughing and playing and it took me a little while to get her back to sleep.

Later that day, she was continuing just to pull up on everything, and try to get into everything. Oh yeah, the girl is so sick.

Towards the end of the day, I captured this picture. You can clearly see what she's thinking. No?

"Mom, I'm sorry I scared you when I threw up, but I'm so glad you could stay home with me all day. I loved spending the day with you!"

Time to babyproof

Now that Erin is pulling up like a pro, she's turned her attention to what is on the coffee table. She's forcing us to keep a clean house, otherwise she'll go after anything and everything. For instance, she's already started making a play for the car keys. No, dear, we've got another 16 years before you're allowed to use those!

Okay, the rings are much better, even if they aren't as much fun for you.

And sometimes, standing is enough to keep her entertained and happy!

Snow baby

We got some new snow, so we decided to take Erin out and take a few more pictures. However, she wasn't feeling it so much, so we had to stop after just a few minutes. We only got three pictures, but she's still the cutest snow baby there is!

At the zoo

Over Christmas Break, we took Erin to the zoo for the first time when she could appreciate any of it at all. She still isn't too sure of what's going on, but it was more fun than when she would just sleep the whole time.

She loved Discovery Bay and the bubbles into the aquarium, where she could get really close. She loves our fish tank at home, so we knew this would be a hit. (She also got really into the tropical fish tank on the Tropics Trail, but those pictures didn't come out as well.)

Sitting on a turtle on the Tropics trail:

We don't know if Erin really liked the ducks and flamingos, or if she really just wanted to watch the water. But it was hard to tear her away from this area as well.

Checking out the animals on the Tropics Trail:

Bundled up to go out on the Minnesota Trail. Erin doesn't really like her mittens, and we did the trail rather quickly, as it was still pretty cold out!

Big Girl Bath time!

We were having a hard time bathing Erin in her infant tub, so we decided to move up to the next level. We got her a bath seat, so now she's in the big tub, but pretty well confined. She likes it a lot, but I think it will have a limited life span. She occasionally tries to climb out of it, but she loves have more room to play and splash. Of course, Daddy had to make sure she had plenty of toys to play with, and she does play with them, but mostly she does what she does best. She chews on them.

Erin is very fascinated with the water that sprinkles out and tries to catch it. I don't think she understands what is going on, but she's learning!

The Leap Frog Activity table

This is by far and away Erin's favorite toy. If she hadn't started pulling up before we gave it to her, I would suspect that she only started doing it so she could play with this more. She now goes around and around the table, playing with all the different parts, and her new favorite thing is to the flip the page in the middle back and forth between music and ABC's. She likes to see the lights go on when she does it!

Caught in the act

Towards the end of Erin's nap time, I heard a funny noise on the monitor. It sounded like something loud sort of banging, and I go in to see this:

Erin's done this before when she wants to get our attention, especially at night. The aquarium is quite loud and there's nothing like hearing the lullaby start and stop and start and stop. When she saw me taking pictures, she gave me this look, all "Who me?"

I've since learned very well what it sounds like when she's playing with her aquarium. It pretty much means that nap time is over.

Christmas pictures

We had two separate outfits for Erin for Christmas, one for Eve and one for Day. She dressed up like Santa on Christmas Eve, but the day was a little wearing, so she spent a little quality time with Daddy.

Then we posed her under the tree to get some good pictures of her outfit.
We even got a smile! (She thinks all the presents are hers!)

We got a cute dress for Christmas Day, and here E is playing with her Go Baby Go Sit to Stand Giraffe, one of her gifts from Christmas Eve. She doesn't quite get the concept yet, but enjoys the music.

After the evening's festivities, I tried to get a picture of her in front of the tree again. She wasn't having any of it. I had to give up, and this is what I got.

In the day or so after Christmas, she started pulling up and now prefers to stand, even though it makes her very tired. It's been interesting!
