Outrigger

Everyone else gets Pina Coladas and all I get is this lousy teether.

Or my fingers.

The artsy shot.

When boredom strikes

Ooh, my diaper bag....I wonder what's in here.

Yum! Puffs!

What else is in there?
Nope, don't want the hat.Oooh, a strap.
This tastes good!
You want some?

Erin and the newspaper

Hmmmmm......someone left this newspaper here.

I don't think they'll notice if I just play with this for a bit.
Who me? I don't know anything about any newspaper.Okay, you caught me!
I'm going to eat it anyway!

Fun in the sun!

I know how to use a high chair!

But it's far more fun to see what other people are doing!

More of Daddy's hats

Since the last time I put Todd's hat on Erin, the pictures came out so cute, I couldn't resist doing it again. The baseball hat is cute!

But these are my favorites! I didn't know they'd come out so cute, or I'd have done it a long time ago!

Her shirt says "Big trouble comes in small packages."

Erin meets the Gulf

We took Erin to the beach to experience the ocean/gulf for the first time. We weren't quite sure what to expect.

"Okay, Mom, I'm ready now, but what the heck is on my head!"

"Are you sure we should be going out there?"
"Okay, this isn't too bad......""Let's get off this towel!"
"Ah, now this is how one plays in the sand. "
"Why do my tub toys taste different?"
"Let me grab that over there...."
Todd brings Erin closer to the water.

And then he put her down. Yeah, that didn't go so well.

As soon as the water washed over her hands and onto her legs, she just started wailing. We tried to get her to play on the beach some more after that, she she wasn't having it. We had to just pack up, head back, hose her off and bring her in the pool. Then, all was well again.

The Hills are Alive.....

with the Sound of Music......

'nuff said.

Two cute pictures

These are just two of my favorite pictures, of Erin in her PJs, playing on Grandpa Pat's rocker.

The Fish House

Our first night in Florida, we ate dinner at The Fish House, a mostly outdoor restaurant on the bay. We all get a variety of fried seafood for dinner (healthy, I know). Erin eyed up Todd's Flash Fried Lobster.

"Hey, Dad, can I have some of that?"

Don't worry, it's just her teether in her mouth.

But this one tastes soooooooooo much better.

First time in the pool!

While we were in Florida, we took Erin in the pool for the very first time. Here she is, slathered with sunscreen and decked out in her Gymboree swimsuit. Todd and I took turns holding her and taking pictures. I think it was just like a giant bathtub for her, and she loved looking around at all the other people and babies in the pool!

After the antibiotics

Erin's had a rough time of it lately, fever off and on, vomiting once or twice a day. We've had her in to the doctor about 4 or 5 times in 2008. Not the best way to start the year. This past week, we finally got some answers. After E had a fever for 5 days, the doctors finally did some testing. After some painful pokes and prods for her, we were told she has a urinary tract infection. I didn't know she could get those, and no wonder the poor baby has been uncomfortable! We have some additional testing to do later because it could be a sign something's wrong, or it could just be a UTI. We'll find out later.

At the doctor's office, they gave Erin a shot of antibiotics. After the other testing, she was less than thrilled with the shot, but we came home, she took a nap, and woke up a new baby. She was so happy!

She hung out at the coffee table, playing with her peek a blocks.
She hung out on the couch and played with Daddy.

Then, she took all of her toys out to play.

We were so happy to have our happy baby back!
