Story time

Erin decided that Sara needs some literature in her life. So, the other day, while we had Sara doing some tummy time on her boppy (she likes it that way MUCH better than just on the floor), Erin decided to read her some books.

This is how Sara felt about it:

Swimming in the Kiddie Pool

Erin LOVES swimming and playing in water. Every day she asks if we're going to the water. She loves to say "Svim! Svim!" When we pulled onto the dirt road the cabin, Erin said, "Yay! Water!"

For the first time, maybe ever, the kiddie pool up at the cabin is heated! Yay! Erin loves the freedom the kiddie pool allows her, especially when there are a lot of big kids in the regular pool. Todd took her there, and she had an absolute ball!

The floaty suit kind of makes her look like a turtle when trying to get out of the pool.

World of Christmas and Evergreen Park

On our last trip up north, we took the girls to World of Christmas and the attached Evergreen Park. Since the store is filled with many breakable items, we didn't spend much time in there. It's not fair to ask Erin not to be a bull in a china shop in there!

This is only the second time we've tried to take Erin on rides, because she's generally too short. She didn't like the rides at the State Fair last year, but she's quite a bit older now. Also, they weren't the same kind of thing.

We took a train ride. I wasn't sure how Erin would do, but she loved it!

Erin got in the bounce house. (These pictures were all taken through the bounce house walls, so they aren't as good as they could be.) Todd had to get in there with her, but once they got in, she had a great time bouncing. Erin's really been into jumping lately, so it's no wonder!

And then we went in the maze. Erin was the one who eventually got us out when Todd put her up on his shoulders. I think she could see over the walls!

Erin doesn't like rocks in her shoes, so she sat down and refused to go any further.

Afterwards, we decided to get a snack! We got Erin her first ice cream cone. Who knew she'd be such a dainty girl? She barely got dirty! She didn't really eat very much, though.

Thank You and ABCs

Tonight, we watched the Banana episode of Elmo's World. If you've seen it, you know that the banana says "thank you" after every sentence, regardless of whether or not it's funny. (Because of the drum roll.) Todd and I have been walking around saying Thank You in the banana's voice and now Erin's picked it up. As well as singing "That's Elmo's World" if you sing the beginning part (though she often leaves off the "that's").

Enjoy!

Then, for fun, and since I had the camera in my hand, I figured, why not see if Erin will sing her ABCs if I ask. So....here we go...
