State Fair!
We spent a lot of time walking around, and we ate a couple of the new foods available. We split the sloppy joe on a stick.....thumbs down. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't good either. The fried fruit was also a thumbs down. I was even more disappointed because after I paid $3 for my fried fruit on a stick, free samples appeared. I would NOT have paid for it if I'd been able to try it first. I got my now mandatory deep fried oreos as well as some roasted corn. Todd tried the key lime pie on a stick. It was pretty good! What did Erin eat the most of? Her snugli.

Baptised!
This is Erin on the morning of her baptism. We were afraid she'd get her dress dirty, so we put her into a different (but still cute) outfit for the day.
This is Erin with one of her godmothers....Molly. The next picture is a family picture taken after the whole thing was over.
Erin was very good, especially considering she had to get naked. Todd & I decided to do the full immersion, rather than just a few drops on the head. She was the only baby of the seven doing full immersion, so she got to go first. Erin didn't start fussing until the very end. She tolerated being dipped in the lukewarm water quite well! She did well with the oil and having the baptismal bib placed on her as well.
Everyone headed back to our place for a barbecue, which was held inside due to the rain. Poor Todd had to run out and grill in the rain, but he didn't melt! We did notice that the oil placed on Erin's head had a rather pungent smell. She smelled like cinnamon! We don't know if it's supposed to smell like that or not, but she most definitely did!

Welcome!
Erin Elizabeth arrived on May 11th at 2:07 am. I have written a very long birth story, which I will post at some point. We spent the summer home with her, adjusting to life as new parents. We don't completely have it down, but we're getting there.
I'll update this blog with our new experiences, and even some we've passed, as it took me three months to get around to this!
